Dr. Sunwha Park, MD, PhD, is an obstetrician-gynecologist and maternal-fetal medicine specialist at Ewha Womans University Medical Center, where she is Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director of the Maternal and Fetal Center.
Her clinical expertise includes the management of preterm birth, gestational diabetes, and multiple gestations. In research, Dr. Park has a strong focus on the impact of the vaginal microbiome and maternal environmental exposures (e.g., fine particulate matter, air pollution) on pregnancy outcomes. She applies multi-omics approaches—such as transcriptomics, metabolomics, and proteomics—along with AI-based predictive modeling to identify biomarkers and mechanisms of adverse pregnancy outcomes.
Dr. Park actively collaborates with international partners and participates in large-scale cohort studies, microbiome-based diagnostic tool development, and live biotherapeutic product (LBP) research. Her work bridges clinical obstetrics with translational research, aiming to advance women’s health and maternal-fetal medicine globally.
